I never read a book that has not been reviewed by anybody but after reading a sample of this I decided to take a chance. The author has, for the most part, a great "voice". Yes there are grammatical errors. Yes, in certain spots the story has errors. Yes, the style is disconcerting -it initially appears to be an endless monologue. None of that matters.If you live anywhere around the "Ring of Fire" - the Pacific Rim (West Coast USA, West Coast Canada, Alaska, West Coast Central and South America, East Coast Asian Continent, Hawaii, Austrailia, New Zealand, The Phillipines and Malaysia, etc) - READ THIS BOOK!!!! Take a look at the USGS Earthquake maps - then READ THIS BOOK!
It is not an endoftheworld go out and start shooting the bad guys book. It is not a "look how amazingly I prepared for the EOTWAWKI" book. It is not a vampire or cannibal or terrorist novel.
What it does offer is a realistic and frightening scientific analyzation of the activity we see daily around the Pacific Rim with a prediction of Mother Nature's future fury. As the book frequently states - ten years in geological terms is "soon". It points out the many possible ways that Mother Nature can express her displeasure with the current state of the human race without any hint of patriotism, national preference, or political agenda. As the book also states - there is nothing that humans can do, if this does happen, other than know and prepare as best as possible.
READ THE BOOK! If you live on the West Coast of America or Canada - read the book! You'll probably recognize your hometown!

An epic book which gives a close-up and personal account of Mother Nature running amok and why we should ready ourselves for just such a catastrophe. Well researched and a good read.
Why is a a massive cruise liner being tossed around like a toy in a bathtub?
Why is an unstoppable black monstrosity looming towards a Japanese resort hotel?
Why is a fully blown snow blizzard falling in a desert?
Is this just Mother Nature expressing her displeasure at how naughty the human race is being?
No need to ask for answers on a postcard. Niles Havoc would know. He has an amazing ability to feel things about Earth. Problem is, people didn't ask him. They have him down as a 'fruitcake'. And that is a big mistake for the world at large to make.
For reasons known very well to Niles Havoc and his small team, a series of major catastrophes take place within the pages of Earth's Blood which threten the very existence of mankind. The reader is treated to the unleashed fury of nature and the flimsy attempts of the human race to combat them.
And there's still time to explore more light-hearted frailties like guilty fumblings in an elevator.
An action packed thriller based on certain, indisputable facts, Earth's Blood is a captivating read. A true page turner and not a book you should ignore.
This page turner is a must for those who question what they are being told by those who purport to know more than the standalones. The odd ducks aren't all crazy.
The descriptions of the catastrophes were interesting, but the characters were not. Skipping around the world showing the different types of disasters in different regions underlined the world-wide effects of the crust shear. I didn't accept the possibility of the shear however.
